For Better Sex: Improve Sexual Performance With These Tips

For Better Sex: Improve Sexual Performance With These Tips

And just like that, the first quarter of 2022 is almost over! How’s your sexual performance so far?

There’s always room for improvement and if you feel you can do so much better, scroll below to read our tips on how to improve sexual performance.

Stay healthy physically and mentally

Working out in bed is, let’s face it, not enough.

The key to a great sexual performance starts with staying healthy - physically and mentally. If you’re not physically healthy, it can be a challenge to even have the energy to do the act, let alone initiate one. Being mentally unsound can also take away the fun in sex and can potentially lead to a toxic sexual relationship.

Plan your meals, get enough sleep, and cut down on alcohol and caffeine and you’re on your way to a healthier lifestyle. Add exercise to your daily routine to keep yourself fit. Sexually active or not, make sure to get regularly tested to check for STIs and other infections.

If you’re after changes that might need medical intervention, consult your trusted GP.

Eat right

Staying healthy physically and mentally also involves eating the right food.

Men’s Health recommends fatty fish such as Salmon and Mackerel. Omega-3 fatty acids found in most cold-water fish helps increase dopamine levels essential to trigger arousal. For increased testosterone, indulge in oysters once in a while for increased testosterone. And as you might have heard, oysters are an aphrodisiac as well.

For women, promote a healthier sex life and consider eating food that increases blood flow to the genitalia, such as bananas, avocados, and figs.

Fortunately, we live in the land of smashed avos, so a better sex drive is pretty much just one brunch away.

Try new things, such as seeking a sex therapist

There’s still stigma about seeing sex therapists to improve sexual performance. Here at Sokkie, we are all about being sex positive and we say, time to throw the stigma and guilt out of the window and choose what’s best for you, for your sexual performance, and for your partner.

Make the rest of your 2022 the most x-rated yet by exploring new positions with your partner and suggesting which positions to try. From this Valentine’s Day special released by SheKnows, we’d recommend trying the Standing Room Only, The Countertop, and The Kinky Missionary (with consent).

Speaking of trying new things, consider stocking up on lubricants, if you haven’t. For starters, you might want to try unscented ones first. Personally, strawberry scented lubricants remind me of sloppy casual sex in my early 20s so I’m ditching that. But, to each their own.

Communicate

Lastly, you may be good at doing, but communicating is essential, too.

Maintain a satisfying, sexual relationship with your partner and find ways to accommodate each other’s needs through communication. Communicate differences in desire as much as you communicate the things you like about your partner. Find the right time to talk and be honest.

Be the best in your partner’s books and potentially get an A+ in sexual performance by using condoms. When you know you’re about to have better sex, choose #SaferSex, too! Consider using natural, vegan condoms such as Sokkie. Made of three ingredients, ISO 4074 certified, registered with the TGA and more importantly, no nasties.
